Default New bonnet sensor - longevity?

Looking for some advice

I replaced my bonnet sensor just over year ago, and now it looks like the new replacement sensor is failing as my alarm randomly has begun to go off again.

This sounds somewhat unrealistic for the sensor to fail doesn't it?

Just looking for some input.

Thanks

Was it OEM? Really it should last a long time unless one slams the hood closed hard, that can bend the sensors little metal arm. I simply bypassed mine instead of replacement.

I believe so. I purchased it from Rovahfarm.

Might pull it and give it a cleaning.

Hmmm.... odd. It was even updated to help prevent failure.
