I just put a huge flat screwdriver in the key slot and twist, or 2 and twist 1, still pita

So you insert a flat blade driver inbetween the key blade base and the case and twist/pry?

Yup flip open key then use that big recessed area to pry twist with big straight screwdriver, still a pita but worked for me 2 times

Got my new keys from Bear Valley, got them programmed, and I'm back in business.

So, y'all are saying I shouldn't have used a chisel and a ball peen hammer to crack the old case open?

Definitely not. A sawzall with 5 TPI or dynamite is the proper way(Per Rave manual).
