Newby to LR's. Crazy LR3 questions inside, but need to know
#11
I concur on what Dave says. I want to make one clarification though. If you get an SE you can upgrade from Halogen lights to Xenons; but those are not the adaptive ones (at least not in 2005). I believe the adaptive Xenons are only available on HSE models and it is that option that also delivers with rain-sensing wipers. Not 100% sure on that, but that's what I think.
I also endorse the cold climate package. It enables a lot more ways to configure the cabin for creature-comfort.
The NAV, I think, is quite useful. I led some guys through a trail run last year and before going on the trip, I entered points from the map that represented trail heads and named them...including giving them "voice tags." Then, once in the forest I could simply say "NAVIGATION, GO TO 'Powerline Trail'..." and it would point me in that direction. The 4x4 info screen, as Dave mentions, is also very useful.
My LR3 is an HSE configured with: HD Package (locker), Adaptive Lighting, Cold Climate....and I wouldn't trade any of those features for anything. I think I've used every single feature, in situ, on this vehicle.
