It does. The bung is welded into the driver's side exhaust. I checked mine (quickly) and the bolts to the bung were tight. I also took an inspection camera and look at the weld as best as I could to see it and I didn't see any cracks. I'm curious how your inspection goes Vetalbig.

I also replaced the upstream O2 sensor since I had replaced the downstream on Bank 1. Been driving it for about a week and no change. I don't have an IIDTool so I disconnected the battery leads and shorted them to clear the learned maps (I really still don't know if this really works).

Next steps, I need to get my hands on a fuel pressure gage and check to see what it looks like at idle and at higher RPM. I'm also going to swap injectors from bank1 to bank2. If that doesn't correct it- I'm really not sure what will be next. The truck is still running like a top. Although my hwy mileage is down around 19 or so now. Not sure if that's due to colder weather or winter-mix fuel or what. So, still fighting this one.

Default Update

Ordered used (supposedly almost new) catalytic converter, after this I’m out of options. Update to follow.

Whenever I have a mysto issue thats kicking my A$$, I resort to a BG VIA induction cleaning. Could try it as a hail mary. Once done, reset adaptions and drive.

I was hoping you would chime in soon Vetalbig. It just may be the solution but I still don't understand why other codes weren't present here more directed at a failing cat (P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold is the one that I really thought would have popped). I appreciate you staying with this thread and not throwing in the towel. Hopefully this does it for you, and if it does - I guess I'll follow down that path. Good luck and fingers crossed.

Yes Sir, I used to have p0420 but it cleared following by p2096 so my THEORY IS that maybe it’s a secondary code indicating that cat is done?

Atlanta Viking tonight I put new cat in, still got the code. Anything on your end as far as fuel pressure?

Only use 1 can per full tank.

a fuel rail cleaning would be more direct though.

Abran, if I do direct fuel rail injection with OTC system, would you recommend mixing it with gas or straight BG? What would be correct air pressure to apply?

60 lbs, straight BG. The vehicle will run on it. Remove the fuel pump relay.

It takes about 12-14 min for one can.
