Default Park Brake Fault

Could a bad bearing cause park brake fault and disable parking sensors??? park brake fault happened when i was doing a u-turn yesterday evening.. it was working earlier in the day... on my way drive home, heard grinding noises when driving which slowed down when i applied the brakes.. otherwise, car driving fine

Sensors, no. They are a fully independent system with the only influence being a trailer connected, etc. Parking brake is an always active system even when not being used. The system monitors parking brake cable tension to keep it in spec. Worn parking shoes, bad adjustment can all eventually throw it out of spec. Per the manual, the parking brake system is something that needs regular maintenance. So I tend to agree that either a REALLY bad rear bearing could cause fault since it may cause issues with brake sho alignment but I would couple that with what could be a poorly maintained parking brake system. I would simply pull the rear rotors and take a look. I bet one side will have worn/damaged shoes. But once in the air and before removing anything, check wheels for play which could indicate bearing failure.

I would do both. But they are hell to replace if you have any rust on that thing. The plastic end never want to easily unthread from the shields. Also never head or a cable snapping before, that is a new one.
