Hey folks,
2008 LR3 4.4L 214K miles. I smelled coolant today when I got home, checked around and found the passenger side of the radiator is leaking. Nothing bad but coolant is definitely seeping out. Question is, what else should I replace while I'm in there? This is my list so far, all these components are original as far as I can tell so everything but the radiator is 'preventative'.

• Radiator
• Cooling system hoses (Atlantic British sells a kit with all of them, it's a bit pricey $700 but while I'm in there...)
• Water pump
• Thermostat / housing
• Belts

What else have you replaced while that part of the world is easily accessible?

 

Check the belt tensioner and idlers as well, you may be able to replace the bearings in the pulleys instead of replacing them.

 

This might help you a little. I did my radiator not too long ago as well as every hose except the ones running back to the heater cores. I will do those this spring.
