Replace height sensors in pairs?

Replace height sensors in pairs?
hello all!
i had a difficult experience with a non Landry repair shop which was out of necessity- height sensor failure and drop to bump stops. Fast forward, I take it in for new LCAs at a rover place and they state that the replacement height sensors were replaced RF RR but need to be replaced in Pairs ie RF LF/RR LR.
I have not heard of such things. Is this true- I feel like they are taking me for a ride as the total costs for all repairs- both control arms, alignment and the replacement of the working older sensors will be like 2500.
Any thoughts?
james
Oh I have a 06 LR3 with 145k proud rhino lift and 32" tires...

abran,
Yea the necessity shop (100 miles from my home not familiar with Rovers) replaced 2 on the Right Side. They could not calibrate because they did not know about the Proud Rhino lift rods and used the OEM rods. They mailed me the Proud Rhino Rods, and I wanted to have the Lower Control arms redone, which was needed. The new shop, a Land Rover/Jaguar shop, put the Rods on, but could not calibrate, stating that they needed to be done in Pairs. So not one side alone, which was done, but both sensors at once (the 2 in front, and both in the rear). I have the IID Gap tool, so I could calibrate my self, but could not align the wheels.
So, it just smelled fishy- I have been on the Forums for a bit, and I had not seen anything about replacing sensors in pairs.
Thanks!

New sensors
I don't know if it matters but the new sensors have a different electrical connector and if it were me I'd update them in pairs. They are not expensive and you can install and calibrate yourself. Even I've done that and I have no "wrench talent." While you're at it...take those rods off! If you have the IIDTool them just create a taller setting for youeself, you don't need the rods.

$1800+ in labor for that job sounds well beyond what would be reasonable to me.
also, if you have a GAP tool you can do the calibration yourself in under 30min with it

Did they give an actual breakdown on parts and actual labor time X labor rate? That is how a legitimate estimate should look.

No,
It was done over the phone stating the total cost, no breakdown. I should have been more straight forward in regards to what I wanted in the estimate- ie parts/labor hours and price.
I am always reluctant given the difference in information available to me.
Thank you for your input!
