I think the re-programming had to do with the other codes you had. In general a compressor replacement alone, does not require any software update unless you are going from Hitachi to AMK.

Being that lots have done this swap without, "no matter what" is not true. I guess in your case it was required for some reason.

It was required because he also installed the new relay. That's my theory at least. He also had other faults, so the re-flash may have been to address those.

Default correction...:)

Perhaps I should have been more specific..the new compressor needed Recalibrating not system reprogramming ..its just a reconfiguration of the high or front and rear end to help the car sit right. ..and I agree ..not every LR needs it ...mine has a lift and Im sure the new compressor messed with the module set up. Cheers.

Ah, that's a calibration and has nothing to do with the compressor. Just adjusts the car to the proper ride height and then tells the computer that whatever position each ride height sensor is currently at should be used as a reference "zero" point.

Correct...I mean cmb is correct. The new compressor did not mess with any module set up. The calibration is all between the height sensors and the EAS' ECU. Changing rods does not impact the calibration at all, nor does the compressor. You (CATTIVA) had other fault codes showing as well...those were likely related to your calibration. You just happened to have a bad compressor at the same time. Two different EAS issues happening at the same time.

Glad you're sorted now. Get those 22s off your Rover now and it will be much happier!
