Rough day in the LR3 bleeder blow out
So I came across LR3 number 1 broke down on my way home.
Seems that it was overheating. So I called the Rover back up powertrain system... While I was waiting I played around with tablet fitting ideas and have that planned out and watched a classic movie.
Once home I got under the hood and found the culprit. A cheap plastic T connection with the bleeder.
Wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a third hose or if was the bleeder for sure. So I pulled the engine cover and checked the other LR3, twins are handy sometimes.
So not interested in plastic for a replacement a little trip to Home Depot found me with brass parts to make a new 2 with bleeder.
Thought I was good to go, but found that thermostat housing had sprung a leak as well. So hopefully I can get one over-nighted so I can get the truck back on the road.

Decided to be smart and make up a second brass T for the other LR3 to be ahead of the power curve. This one was not leaking but was in 6 pieces inside the hoses...
Guys be proactive spend the $15 on the brass parts at Home Depot, Lowe's Napa or anywhere you can get the brass fittings and save yourself some serious grief.

So I got the thermostat housing swapped. I did not take pictures like I planned it was to damn hot and I was to damn frustrated.
It is actually fairly straightforward and easy to do aside from the bottom bolts on the housing. They are just a nightmare to get to.
No leaks and is holding temp just fine. Motor sounds good so I think disaster was averted on this one.
We are not going to discuss my anger issues with getting the old one out
