Scan tools - because the LR3 isn't expensive enough.
GAP Diagnostics IID Bluetooth Tool. Hands down. Easy user interface, constantly updated. This is a screen shot off my iPhone from my ride home the other night. Check out their website and see what you can do. IIDTool for Land Rover - GAP Diagnostic
I have the Nanocom Evolution so I am of course biased. My view is that either the Nanocom or the Gap is the one to have.
As best I can determine, the Gap unit is for the LR3/D3 and LR4/D4 and RR Sport Canbus vehicles whereas the Nanocom can handle pretty much anything LR builds - well maybe not the Series as I think the Prince of Darkness still reigns supreme there.
Nano support seem oriented more to the EU or non North American vehicles whereas the Gap unit being North America designed and supported, tends to favor USA and Canadian vehicles. It is more of a market thing I would guess rather than any particular bias.
If you are Apple oriented, the Gap units seem to be starting to communicate with Apple product whereas the Nano is more Microsoft based and displays tend to be self contained within the unit.
The Nano uses an SD card so that data can be inserted or extracted from your vehicle onto a Windows computer. As to how Gap does it, I am not certain but one can as well, hence both are good units and getting better.
As with any product, support is what really matters. With both units, real people who care are with you from the moment of purchase, regardless of unit.

+1
indeed a great scan tool. soft is available on APP store. The only thing that immediately catches the eye – is that software for IOS looks like something more complete than for Android.
Hardware price is down, i saw the cheapest 20$ on the aftermarket
