Back to this again"

1) It's not the sunroof drain - that's temporarily bypassed.
2) It's not the A Pillar - this has been sealed
3) It's not the Cowl - it's been taped to the windshield
4) The pollen box is dry.

The only other clue I can give - when I start the car after a rain - there's a audible trickle of water. If you've had a vehicle sound like a waterfall because there is air in the hose / coolant it sounds like this. It's like it has pooled somewhere and has let go in a gush.

The water in the passenger side is clear and possibly filled with debris.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check the AC drain tubes. They can detach or get clogged.

The are on the sides of the center console, you can get to them easily. Push some trimmer line through them to clear any blocks and make sure they're connected at the console

It’s not the ac drains either. I checked.

There is a ton of wetness behind the foam identified in the box in the picture above. I can squeeze it and it drips.

what is behind there ? What drains to this area?

I have been assured that my a pillar holes and mounting points are sealed. I got them to do that when the windshield was replaced.

running water does not yield an immediate of water in to the foot well. It’s almost like it seeps in from somewhere.

And I don’t know about you - but the trickling sound of water running means it’s stored somewhere then released.

I am running out of ideas.

AC drains don't drain up there anyway.

Did you fix the exterior A-pillar trim, properly? I would buy a-pillar repair kit and pull them/inspect. Otherwise I would say the windshield install was done poorly.

Could water be pooling at the back end of the battery tray and finding it's way in? It can collect by the transfer case control module.

I should be at the shop tomorrow and will see if I can spot anything while the interior is stripped

ok thanks.

heres some more symptoms.
  • when I run a hose with water for a long time there is no leak into the cabin. the water is run on the sunroof and down the windshield. Particular attention to the a pillar.
  • when I turn on the engine, just before I go to move the car I hear water trickling.
  • when going up hill - up my driveway - there is a deluge of water. Comes mainly from the area indicated in the pic.
  • the water has flecks of stuff in but is clear. Could be debris.
  • I confirmed to today by removing the cowl that there is NO leak getting in to the air intake. In fact the previous owner must have taped this on the front
  • the a pillar has been sealed. I confirmed this today with the windshield place.
