Default Transmission oil leak ?

Hello,
I have a 2005 LR3 HSE with 142,000 miles. Since a couple of weeks ago I have seen some oil drops in the driveway. They are dropping from the from side of the engine like if they were coming from below the coolant fan. I went under the car and cleaned all what I found and drove car for 2 more days to try to find out from where the oil is coming from. Today I noticed a little oil drop forming in a screw but seems it is dripping from a higher part.
I took a picture. Please let me know of any ideas if this is transmission oil or other thing.

Thanks in advance, Roberto

If the oil has a slight green colour it would indicate that there is a leak somewhere in the power steering system.

The 'Texaco Cold Climate Fluid 14315' in the system is a translucent green when fresh, though as it ages it gets darker but should still have a green tinge unlike all the other fluids and oils in the car.

Thanks.

I agree, it seems the Power Steering Pump is leaking.

Is there any resource with the steps to replace this PSP on an LR3 ? How complicated will this be ? I have changed belts and removed the coolant fan in the past, my question is more related to screws or bolts in the PSP that need to be removed.

Thanks in advance, Roberto

Check out this link to a LR3 workshop manual Land Rover Workshop Manuals > LR3/Disco 3 > General Service Information then go to 'Power steering'.

Thank you very very much Alphamale for that link! Very appreciated.

It looks very straightforward job.

1- Have you done it ? if so, easy as stated in the doc ?
2- After replacing pump, I just need to add more psp oil to the reservoir and start engine to purge system ?

If you have any other advice please let me know.

Thanks a ton in advance, Roberto
