Default What this bolt for?

Went to remove undercarriage plate to change oil on 2008 lr3 and found this. This looks important given the size. I still haven’t found where this bolt could’ve fallen out of and hope someone has a clue. I had front control arms replaced a couple months ago so need to check if mechanics know anything. Thanks for helping.

Default It may be important

The fact that it has a hex shape at the end makes me think suspension or diff mount. Since it was in the under shield, I have to ask, Did you have a shop do any front diff or front suspension work lately? It is not uncommon for mechanics to drop the new bolt in a place that is too time consuming or difficult to recover and just put the old bolt back in.

Not completely unrelated but there is a reason that a single 10mm socket is the number one seller on most of those tool trucks that stop by the shop each week.

Other than that.... I have nothing.

thanks for the clues Jeff. Front control
arms were just replaced a couple months ago so will see if mechanics remember dropping any bolts

It looks like one of the bolts that attach the control arms. I'd start by checking all those attachments points.
