OEM Coolant T busted on me - thankfully 1 mile from home . . .
I already had a brass replacement on hand, waiting to go in - nothing like forced motivation!
I got the oil pan(s) off and removed any debris I could find. The crank rotated easily with no noise or damage. I’ll get to putting the heads together with new seals and install all the new timing components and get it back in the truck within the next few weeks. I’ll report back with any issues or triumphs.
Doing a bit of paint rehabilitation. That was the first pass with the medium cut. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the time to finish that side and do the fine polish and wax
New!! 2008 Lr3 v8 hse
Got my safety certificate today and joined this group! Had to replace both rear upper control arms, driveshaft centre hanger bushing(wife decided to take over and do it in the kitchen- apparently the barn and -15’c isn’t for her), both front tierod assemblies and an alignment.
Lots if interesting work to start out with on this beast but super happy it’s on the road
now to address it not shifting into 1st from a stop. Only started after the battery went flat for a couple days?
Going to change all fluids as the next project next weekend.
Finished the buff, polish and wax. Then did some trim restore. The paint is far from perfect but I did get the worst of the trail rash off the finish. Well the outside is ready to hit the road to WinterRomp in Maine, next it’s time to get the inside ready

...do you have any mods that might change the load path in the rear? I've had an LR3 for almost 15 years and have been on these message boards nearly as long. I have not heard about many rear control arms being changed. One guy had stiff polybushes back there.
Just trying to scope it...see if there are contributing factors.
