Noticed an odd sound from my engine a few days ago, almost metallic tick but sounded very external. Assumed water pump so I took the belt system apart. Water pump seemed fine, so I left it. But I found every so slight play in the fan pulley, not enough to be a problem I think. However, the power steering pulley has at least a couple millimeter in play! This *might* also explain the odd "sump, sump, sump" sound that would come and go at idle, especially when warmed out. So looks like I will order once and give it a go. At least it looks easy to replace.

When I had the front stripped down on the white LR3 it looked very doable.

I took mine out for some fun. Winter Romp 2020 is in full swing

Default Broken timing chain update

I finally got the engine back together and put back in the Rover. I’ll spend the next few weeks putting all the accessories back on. I’ll update when it starts and I move it out of my garage.

Ordered a set of proud rhino lift rods for the new LR3. Once travel slows down a bit I have a pile of parts waiting to go on

Finally got around to splicing in the orange box from my spring conversion.

Also made a dumb mistake and nearly **** myself. Got careless and cut the wrong wire on 1 of the splices and didn't notice. Button it up, turn the key to on and get a giant F, no starter power, all the lights flashing.

Take it all back out from the module and found my error. Put the wire back together, soldered and heat wrapped it, spliced the correct wire and surprise the box works like it should. No more yellow suspension light and terrain response is back
