Did you get no "charging system failed" warning? Mine died from Uwharrie Mud and I was able to drive 45min to an autozone as the LR3 automatically shut down non-essential systems to conserve energy. They didnt have an alternator in stock, so I recharged battery 1 and added a 2nd battery in parrell and drove the remaining 2 hours home on battery only power.

I wasn't behind the wheel, she claims no warning. Tires are done.

And working the alternator now...

Treating the ol' girl to a fresh set of plugs and an oil change tomorrow. Just turned over 200,000 km...
Battery seems to be a bit weak so I might exchange it for a new one at Costco. Gotta love their 100 month warranty!

So the tally for the weekend.

8 New Spark Plugs
1 New Air Filter
1 Oil Change
1 New Water Pump
1 New Alternator
2 New Belts
7 New Hoses
2-3 gallons of coolant
4 Tires

Think I need to talk to someone about their driving habits..... She claimed an electrical fault, like a true Rover owner

Had not thought of Costco for a battery, was going for LR OEM. What size do you get that is close to the original size? Mine is getting weak also and it is time.

The official sized battery for the LR3 is a DIN H8 sized battery.
I, (and Land Rover dealers), install the slightly shorter H7 as it fits better.

It is 1.625" less long; the H8 is 13 and15/16 inches long, and that is a tight fit.

The link for the Interstate Mega-Tron Plus 94R / H7 is as below; not cheap, (nothing Land Rover is), but the Interstates seem reliable.

We have a winner... lol

I don't think I've ever had mine above 85 mph and tend to tool around a lot less as I prefer places without roads.
