Did a rear diff fluid change. My first run was 90k between changes..... yuk, I know. So this time I did it at 55k miles, much cleaner fluid. Barely dark and very gold in color. And even after tons of abuse there were no large chunks of metal or anything scary. Used the GM carbon fluid since mine is locking and Bot 720 is impossible to find now.
Why wold you get an Amazon one when the Ford ones are so cheap?
Is the ford switch readily available in NA, for us they were used on the local Falcon and Territory so can get them at any ford dealer.
I would rather the ford unit than a hit n miss aftermarket switch.
Today I finished my diff rebuild. Hopefully I can get it installed this weekend. I had issues getting the used diff to rebuild to begin with and when the yard did get me one, it had 240k miles versus 180k that I ordered. So I felt a partial rebuild was the best thing to do. I plan to rebuild my original also. On the rebuild itself I ran into issues with getting new bearings and or the bearings I bought which really slowed the project down. Learned A LOT about bearings doing this! In the end it call came together and within spec.
