HI! The Rims look great! I just purchased 18" 5 spoke rims as well and would love to learn how to do that. Is there a website or some documentation you can share so I can learn more about it??

Nice work, it looks much better without the side steps.

I'm still in preventative maintenance mode with my LR3. This week I got the sunroof drains sorted out and today I checked the transmission fluid (even managed to not burn myself) then started looking at the air suspension and see what parts I would need to rebuild the dryer. It looks like I still have a Hitachi compressor but some of the mounting hardware managed to disappear. At least I caught it before it fell off the truck. Has anyone else had to replace these fasteners before? It might not be a bad thing to check on if you live in the snow belt.

Geez, I'm away for a while and what I think are electronic issues are now the primary issue based on recent threads. Not suprising, LR3's are old.

I chose to replace the purge valve above the charcoal filters in the rear, still getting the same random code, for kicks I replaced the gas cap at the same time. I'll replace the purge valve between the block and fire wall next and see what happens. Before anyone ask's I have the software from the guy out of Colorado. It doesnt give a code, but a little search allows me to figure it out. p0441.

Considering I'm the original owner with 187K on it, always garaged for the most part, I think I'm doing ok

Thanks James! I have mixed feelings about the side steps, because they were nice and wide, useful roofrack access. But they were damaged so easily everytime I went off road, so they had to go. Need to get rock sliders with a step on them, I'm just deciding which ones to get. Might not go crazy on weight and full underbody protection since my LR3 is light duty on the trails.

Wow, good catch! I better go outside and check mine, I've heard a thump on bumps every now and then...

Default Land Rover Passion liftgate handle

This was a really satisfying job installing the lift gate handle from Land Rover Passion! Sometimes the modifications I do to my vehicles add worry or somehow seem to compromise something (fuel economy, fit and finish, etc). So that's why this off-the-shelf install felt so good. I'm not a custom fabricator by a long shot, however it does feel good to use a grinder, jigsaw, and drill for this project. And I love how oem this handle looks in the carpet on the tailgate. Its both good insurance in case of actuator failure, but also awesome for egress from inside of you sleep inside, or maybe in case of emergency!

Here's an ultra detailed 40 minute video of the installation, with 3D holographic step by step instructions:

This shorter video without text gives a nice overview of every step in under 10 minutes in case someone wants a preview before taking on this project. I love working on the LR3, and getting to know it's cool systems and compare them to my old Jeep, and am happy to share what I did to mine today!!

Fluid Film undercoated it today. Not perfect but hopefully it slows the rust down a little.

I used Fluid Film. Found out it comes in black so I threw some on there.
