Doubt it was to save, probably parts counter/site sold wrong stuff. I see it a lot when it comes to rotor sizes for the LR3.
That's probably more fair to the guy.

But he had also stuffed the suspension compressor with cut up pool noodles to stop it rattling. It was a Hitachi compressor in the AMK holder.

Surely he would have noticed that the pads were hanging off the rotor when he fitted them ?

Default retrofit mod

These newer stalks are easier to read and have a more satisfying positional click! Got them installed in no time, it was an easy job and functional outcome.

my lr3 wipers on intermittent don't seem to work properly, wonder if swapping for something like this would fix it. Haven't had time to see if it's wiring or the switch

Are they set to intermittent or auto sensing ?

honestly not sure. Auto sensing would make the most sense. Wasn't sure they equipped the base models with that feature. I'm also getting some fogging between layers on front windshield (thanks to a rock chip/hole) which may be making things operate a little wonky.
I bet i can find something in the gap tool to see wiper selection in the live data to double check the switch is working properly.

New onboard air compressor - the brushless single from ARB! Any concerns with this mounting location?

I've been missing my foglights and decided to go in-pulled the out and the internal reflector on both sides has disintegrated. I found that one can remove the base from the lens, spent some time scraping and cleaning crusty corrosion from the rebase and now I'm considering my options to redo the reflector portions. My idea is to epoxy some foil inside the reflector, or paint it with some "chrome" paint which never really comes out chrome. I do have some nice LED bulbs to replace the halogens.
And then I found that there was no power to the bulbs-so I did the standard computer/tech device unplug it and plug it back in technique and fortunately that did work.
Lime-A-Way works wonders on crusty alloy parts. Cleaned it up nicely.

Did a "bling" upgrade on my 2006. They look better (came from a Rover with just 16k miles) and they feel better, click better. I also like the rear wiper operation better. I would often bump the stalk forward by accident if tinkering inside on stuff around the dash. Now it is done with a twist of the end of the stalk.
