It's for a LR3/4 but you need to have a roof rack to mount it to. I have the front runner rack and was able to mount to it. Had to get a little creative and I used bigger hardware then what was supplied. The bottom is a row of really strong magnets so no drilling. I dont think I can post links but here's a screen shot.
A bit of maintenance today. Replace my front driver CV assembly. When I have time I will take apart my old assembly which has some play to inspect the wear. Also has a tiny leak at the shaft, so a new seal went in. If you have a ball joint kit one of the rings is perfect for installing these.
Side awning helps with kayak loading, i just get one end up on the side then slide it up and into the V type holders.
Giving me an excuse to buy an awning now? Lol
Anyways, replaced my TB today due to some fluctuateing RPM under some load. First time ever coming accross a TB with coolent lines...i thought they were just vac lines lol needless to say I made a mess. Didn't fix the issue but now I have a back up TB? Lmao
On the weekend i decided it was time to investigate a slight rear brake squeal i started hearing an i expected i would be close to needing new pads plus handbrake shoe adjustment since i have occasionally got the dreaded screech applying it.
Off with wheels and pads were at about 50% but LH side had a seized slider pin, took the cradle off and stuck it in the vice so i could twist it out.
Cleaned up the pin and the recess and lubed both pins and put back together, other side was good so just adjusted the shoes and all back to quiet now.rear rotors had a bit of wear with a lip so used a flap disc to clean them up.
By the time the pads are due i'll have new rotors on hand ,already have a full set of pads ready to go.
This last set of pads dont seem to have worn as quick as the previous ones, would have to be 2 1/2 to 3 years since i'll replaced any - ceramic compound pads don't seem to wear as quick.
In a few weeks i'll be giving the disco a small performance boost, got a new bigger inter-cooler that is said to add about 10hp then later i'll get a performance ECU tune to bump it up from 190 to 240hp and a 20% increase in torque.
Has about 3 times the surface area .
Just thought of something....I have a few of these e-track panels I was going to install on the quad trailer I had. Tons of different accessories clip into them. My roof rack has channels that retain 1/2 bolts....works like a charm! And the accessories that clip into them are limitless and relatively cheap.
Just changed my front pads and rotors, I had noticed the brakes gradually getting softer over the last couple months. To the point where it was starting to get scary pressing on them.
Well it turns out the previous owner had put on the wrong rotors, it had the 317mm instead of the 337mm. I already had some caliper rebuild kits on hand and was planning to get the old rotors turned, but Instead got to spend $150 each to get local replacements.
I looked into the price difference between the two rotor sizes, looks like the guy save himself $20 by running too small rotors.
Oh well, brakes are great now, much better than when I bought it!
