Here's my shopping list for the stereo upgrade. My rig came with the Harman Kardon system but NOT the logic 7. I was able to utilize existing speaker system by by-passing the HK amp under the passenger seat using the Discovery 3 HK by pass harness. Since my double din stereo was amplified, I did not have to add any aftermarket amplifier. Even with the Loudness feature turned off, audio is pretty robust.
Only amp I will have to add in the future is the one for the subs since I believe the existing sub amp was part of the HK system but low end is pretty strong so no need for it at the moment.
I did purchase, which I am waiting on, an aftermarket amplified antenna to try since existing amplified antenna is causing more interference than normal. I read that it is 2 systems in one tailored to factory head unit.
Anyway, pretty straightforward installation. You just have to run the by pass harness under the carpet to the HK amp harness under the passenger seat. You can remove the factory amp if you wish but I left mine intack so I do not misplace it in my garage full of gack.
By the way, all of the gear are ebay finds.
