Default Wind noise

Ok. Another new noise. I drove my new to me lr3 for the first time in heavy wind and there is a wind related noise that sounds like a train whistle at 75mph. Any ideas??

Default Probably A post plastic lifting at speed.

Get some 3/4" wide 3M black +33 electrical tape, and tape a strip both sides where the glass and A pillar plastic meet.

I think the plastic lifts at speed. You might also run a strip across at the top of the glass as well.

If the noise persists, then tape the movable sunroof where the glass meets the metal on all four sides.

My noise was from the A posts - I just left the tape in place as it is barely noticeable.

I also found the noise was dependent upon cross winds as well as speed.

Default Its winter up here - outside is no fun.

Just run a strip vertically, half of the width on the glass and half on the plastic. Actually you end up with about a 1/4" sticking to the glass, a 1/4 inch sort of in the concave and the last 1/4" on the black plastic.

Usually the first A pillar takes a couple of attempts to get it looking even; the second, well, still a couple of attempts, but the cost is minimal.

The sun roof is harder going around the curves. Usually I do both the left to right long straights first and then follow up with the shorter sides and curves with two more lengths of tape.

Tape is cheap; use the 3M Made in USA +33 brand tape; the far east sourced stuff turns gooey and or brittle with time.
