Default Houston we have a problem, truck doesn’t recognize the key

Our 2010 doesn’t recognize the key. This came straight out of the blue. Truck is a boat anchor. Won’t start.

We have had a problem for the last couple of weeks with the nav screen, radio, back up camera and everything related to the audio control module. The key fob antenna mounts below the audio control module. Could the issues be related. Help! Thanks. Phil

The key fob is working again. There are three lines under the steering column. The would be below where the key would ususally be situated. Take the fob, buttons down, smooth side up and hold it to the three lines. After about 30 seconds, press the brake and push the start button. It worked for me! Truck is now running, wife is happy, I am happy. Phil

Have you ever replaced the watch battery inside the key fob? In order for the Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM) to pick up the key, it needs its own power. As a backup, there is a RF Coil where you stated that can energize and get data straight to the Central Junction Box and enable an emergency start. Have you been getting warnings on the display for "low key battery"?

No low battery warnings. I changed the battery after the fob stopped working. I called the local dealer. I got absolutely no confidence that they will figure anything out. I can’t believe that this is the first time this issue has come up. Thx. Phil

I had the same thing happen on my 2011 LR4. hanged the battery etc.. ended ups going to the dealer who was able to do a reprogram on the key. The mechanic said it is a common occurance on the older keys. I the bought a new one the old one is the emergency key. it sucks due to the cost but hey its a rover.
