Default 5.0L LR4 Fuel Injectors

Recently replaced my Valve cover gaskets. Of course to do so you must remove the fuel injectors. After removing and cleaning them I installed new seals using the recommended Land Rover installation and resizing tools. After reassembly, the vehicle ran great but I started noticing a fuel smell after shutting it off. Over the course of a couple weeks the smell got worse. I started looking for leaks and found none. So I removed the injectors to find that 5 of the 8 nylon seals on the injectors were either completely missing or burnt through. Has anyone seen this before and know what has caused this. I don't want to just install new seals and have this happen again. Thanks

Where did you get the seals from? Eurospare seals suck and are undersized. They will NEVER seal. You must use dealer only for the seals. Also follow instructions, as the sizer tool must be on the injector for a certain period, you have a small time window to get the inejctor installed, and there is a time period before you should start the vehicle.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the information. I bought the seals from Atlantic British. I have the seal installer and the resizing tool. I did not know about the time frame you mentioned. I will check my manual and see if mentions how long the resizing tool stays on and how soon I need to install them in the engine.
