Default Rear Bumper

After getting nailed twice by people hitting the back of my Disco, I decided to go the cheaper route and bolt on one of those steel "expedition" bumpers you see on eBay. It works well, looks nice, and I would not want to hit it with my other car. I just did not care how the stock reversing/rear fog lights looked so vulnerable against the steel. As I also seem to attract people who do not realize I am in reverse, I wanted to add a few more lumins of light when traveling backwards.

Out came the stock plastic lights and in went 3500 lumens of LED goodness. Five 2" LED pods from SuperbrightLEDs in 90, 60, and 30 degree and two flush mounted lights on the sides. I protected them and the aftermarket Rear Fog with a set of grills from eBayUK. Now people can tell when the back of my Disco is coming at them.

Very cool, I've been thinking about doing something very similar and just trying to decide whether to retain the rear fog lamp functionality

I kept the rear fog due to some of the nasty rainstorms we get around here. Just yesterday we had torrential rains that dropped three inches in an hour. Made for an exciting trip home.

Interesting setup though. I'll be considering installing rear fog lights now.
