I am looking at buying a 2017 HSE with the incontrol touch pro, dealer says CarPlay is not possible. Is that correct? I thought it was a software upgrade?

 

I have an 2017 HSE Lux and use carplay about every day.

 

It is an upgrade. My understanding is it was offered to everyone free of charge (in my case I got a letter from JLR to take it to the dealer for the free upgrade). Works like a charm!

 

It's called the smartphone pack and they should be able to add it. Will give you CarPlay and Android Auto
Some of the earlier InControl systems can't run it, but I thought the Discovery ones all could. Maybe call another dealer with your VIN and ask them to check for you.

 

It is wired carplay on 2017. Not wireless.
