Default Considering CPO 2018 D5, Maintenance Questions?

I am considering a gently used 2018 Discovery 5 HSE (11k miles) and will probably get one CPO for the warranty. I've had 2 LR in the past (Wife has had a 2010 LR2 and 2015 RR Evoque) and am familiar with maintenance cost. I am wondering if the D5 is more conducive to DIY Oil Changes (The Evoque was a NIGHTMARE) and Brakes (was a PITA but not awful)?

I am considering it as a replacement for my current SUV and tow vehicle (R/T Durango is wearing down) but am not super eager to spend the $ on maintenance like I did with the wife's Evoque. Debating this or trying to push the Q7 on my wife instead. Thanks guys!

I have a my17 si6 CPO. So far 2 oil changes have been done using an oil evacuator so it is very easy. All accessible from the hood. There is a thread somewhere about recommended oils. Not many options. Approx cost is $80 for oil and filter.

Other than oil seems to be doing just fine. Brakes still have plenty of wear at 17k miles.

You can also easily drain the oil from the pan by removing the drain plug. Easy access after you remove the skid plate. The skid plate is much easier to remove and replace than the one on my LR3. It is lighter and better designed (not sure if the steel gauge is less and not as sturdy).

Changing the oil filter is easy too, but uses a cartridge style rather than a canister. Just as easy but slightly messier.

Again, the oil choices are limited and oil is pricier than the LR3.

See another thread re: oil changes for Si6.
