Default Foot kick tailgate question 2017 SE6

Does anyone know if there’s a separate fuse for the foot kick sensor separate from the tailgate power?
I would like to disable the foot kick but still be able to open and close the tailgate with the push button switches.

Can you unplug the sensor?

That sounds like it's worth a try. Maybe just one side and see if my issue (unwanted closing upon my head) goes away.
I've looked underneath and never found the sensor but now that you've included that picture I will look again.

If it does fix the issue maybe I will swap my left and right sensors and see what that result is.

Thank you

I've given up on the kick sensors. The only one in our family that can reliably activate them is our lab as she runs by causing the tailgate to come down on my head. The corners are pretty freakin pointy too.

Yes. I was planning to give up on the sensors. Tired of it closing when not wanting. Just found in my manual that fuse 49 in load space fuse box is for gesture sensors. I will try removing it tomorrow. Hope that the tailgate still operates via load space switch and tailgate switches.
