InControl Remote - UNRELIABLE
I don’t know if this will help anyone else but it’s worth a try. I was having the same issues as others where my remote start would not work on my velar. Kept saying the car was unsecured when it was not. I took found I had to turn the location on in the actual app of my iPhone. The steps are settings > scroll all the way down to Land Rover in control app > location, turn on while using.
Now this is for the new app. Hopefully this works for someone.

Strange. It works for me with my 2018
Yes - it's slow and a bit clunky. But works every time. Car needs to have decent phone signal. It's slow to respond. But serves the purpose. To be honest not really that helpful beyond a bit of a gimmick.. car info is useful (Eg checking if I have to refuel).

On my 2017 First Edition with 3G, if I lock the car with the door button and leave it for a while, the remote function will not connect at all.
If I lock the car with the remote app, not the door button, it will connect at any later time and all functions work reliably.
This is a repeatable issue and consistent.

That's odd. On mine you get 3 or 4 days after parking/locking before the telematics module goes to sleep. So if you park and leave it a few days then remote doesn't function. But within that period it still works fine.
On my 2017 D5, remote start rarely worked at all. The few times it did, it was a minute or 2 lag. Gave up even trying to use it. On my 2018, it works about 50% of the time with the newer app. When it does, it is within 30 seconds. I had an aftermarket unit installed on my prior Touareg and it was flawless so I know better quality is possible.

We bought a new 2021 the incontrol app sucks and never connects or works, how pathetic for a company to invest in an app and not the key fob, the worst is my 2016 jag xf app expired and now they want 159.99 fee to download and use. Im not paying anyone to use the app ****.
