It seems like the bank 1, Sensor 1 is failing? B1S1

cel is on.

Here is a image of recorded temps.

Any thoughts?
I recall watching the following and wondering where our DPF pressure differential sensor is located. Are you in a position to test it, or replace it?

See if this helps

Ok, after driving a few days to work and back.

Other than oil level sensor codes, I only have the P049B-00 code now. (with a cel)

my research points to a crack DPF. I'm crossing my fingers on this one! (that it is not)

Saga continues.

Stick your finger in the tailpipe (when it's cool). If the DPF is cracked it will let through a tiny bit of fine black soot. I asked my buddy to do the same with his 100k/mi F250 diesel and the tailpipe is as clean as it was brand new.

I get the occasional DPF inefficient code that goes a couple months between lighting up. I've been waiting for it to pop up for the last 3000 miles before the 80k federal emissions warranty is up, but wouldn't you know it's been off with only 800 miles left. Frustrating.

Here is the soot. This is a 100K miles too. Maybe I should clean both pipes and try again in 5k??

here is result of finger test:

Yeah, that's how mine looks too. I'm not looking forward to that repair bill.

I spent a fair amount of time going over the service manual for the D5 just now... I was under the impression that the DPF was immediately after the DEF injector. Turns out that's the SCR (selective catalyst reduction). The DPF is closely coupled with the turbocharger and the exhaust gasses for the EGR are pulled right after the filter. If the DPF is cracked that could lead to fouling of the EGR valve and intake manifold.

I just recently had the EGR changed. I haven't found much on deleting it either. Where I live there is no emissions testing.
If I remove it the DPF guys in Atlanta will clean it for $750, but if it's cracked, that's a whole nother story.

Update on P049B-00. Last week I drove a couple days at 2500-3000 for 10 minutes. both drives, she did a regen cycle.

I've been doing more research on delete. I found https://www.velocityap.com/shop/?pro...ory=land-rover

Velocity Automotive Performance can provide a DPF/EGR/DEF delete with there tune, but you have to block EGR, gut dpf, scr, cat.

That's where it gets complicated, you have to cut and reweld ..... Finding a shop to break the law might me difficult.

( just to be clear these tunes and deletes are for off road use only)

Stay tuned.

Any comments are welcome.

I will have to try this method. I have always just put the wipers in Winter Park mode.
