Oil Analysis | 2020 D5 Td6
Adding some notes for reference;
So far, the UOAs are showing viscosity trending down fairly early (~4500miles). I imagine this is resulting from mechanical shearing of the oil.
Both Rotella T6 (10cSt) & Liqui Moly (8cSt) exhibit this behavior.
Rotella is 0w-40 while Liqui Moly is 5w-30, so both oils end up below their target viscosity range after use.
xW-20 = 6.9 - 9.2 cSt
xW-30 = 9.3 - 12.4 cSt
xW-40 = 12.5 - 16.2 cSt
xW-50 = 16.3 - 21.9 cSt
Planning to test more oils and share the findings.
I'm not overly worried about any of the oils though; the wear results have been excellent with all of them.
Hopefully the community finds this info useful. Cheers

I love when Blackstone is giving those political comments "try 6500n next time"
Viscosity is way below norm, flashpoint is bad, silicone is on edge, so additional miles most likely will put it in red.
I see that Motul as poor choice of oils. what is big disappointment as I use
I am yet to change oil on my Disco, but looks that I rather go with what I tested on other diesels.

Motul 109471 8100 X-Clean EFE 5W30
in my diesel Mercedeses and after 13000 miles, it still has REALY more to go.I am yet to change oil on my Disco, but looks that I rather go with what I tested on other diesels.

A bit light on fiber though.
