Default Rear shock options 2019 Disco SE without air

Looking for some options for my 2019 Discovery SE for rear shocks/struts. I tow a boat with it and it does great on the towing but does have some sag. Since the SE is not air suspension, looking for options for aftermarket air shocks or more heavy duty shocks I can replace in the rear. Very hard to find anything except the air shock options as I think most had the air options except the SE back then.

Replacing Shocks will not improve on sag unfortunately. There are aftermarket air bags/springs that can be installed inside the factory coils. Unlikely any that are specified for late model discoveries, but you can probably find a size/application that works.

Thanks for the reply. I thought of that but it seems like on this Discovery it is a spring with a strut inside it. That makes it hard to fit in something like an air helper bag. Really not much options out there at all for the non air shocks. Almost like an afterthought on doing that model without air shocks.

Ah, I was thinking the rear. Shocks and springs are independent on the rear.

I will take another look at it in the AM but it is the rear and it looked like the strut was inside the coil versus separated. However in looking at the diagrams you sent that may just be some type of insert inside the coil.

There's a bump stop inside the spring that will need to be cut or removed. No shock.

Default Still looking for options to address sag on disco5 no air shocks

Still having a crazy time finding options to make the rear coil shocks on my 2019 disco se not sag so bad pulling my boat. Stinks that there don’t seem to be any options out there. I would have thought others ran into the same issue with an SE and no air shocks with some sag towing things.

Have you taken length and inside diameter of the rear springs to determine if there are air bags that will fit? Like I said previously there is probably an application that works, but, just not listed for your use case. These cars are too rare in the States for companies to bother researching and marketing specifically for the Discovery. I have to believe there are inserts for different vehicles that will work on yours. Again you'll probably have to remove some of the factory bump stop that lives inside the factory spring.

A weight distribution hitch might also help. Contrary to what LR recommends not using. I've no issues using them on my vehicles.

very hard to tell how tall it is with the mince bumpers inside the springs. May get lucky and find an option. Can use a WDH since it has a single tongue and surge brakes and the warranty in the boat trailer gets voided.
