The service history must be recorded and checked during a warranty claim, surely customers do not pay top dollar for a vehicle with no service history ?? Seems a little strange 🤔🤔

Maybe you could contact JLR customer care in the uk, ask their advice, I am unsure whether your vin number will be on the UK system, there must be a record of your vehicle somewhere, or maybe JLR build Discos for your country and just erase any details, I am joking but you can believe that JLR if they can ***** something up it is taken as read 😊

Here are their contact details.........

I actually paid for Topix for a day just to see what I could pull up and I did not see anything related to history. I asked another JLR dealer as I was looking at a different vehicle and the service manager mentioned something called DDW, but I am unsure what that stands for or how to access it, but it does seem to be authorized dealer only access.

Default Vehicle History in the US

In the the US each dealer (no matter the make) chooses what DMS (Dealership Management System) they want to use (Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK, Autosoft.... probably 20 different options) and they do are not linked to provide one true detailed service history. Carfax has agreements with the big companies and they pay a pretty penny to get the "general" service info that you see not their reports. If the vehicle was serviced at one place and the dealership really wants to sell it go to the General Manager and ask . But dealers are not allowed to give you copies b/c of the privacy laws to protect the personal of the information of the previous owners.

With the diagnostic equipment used by LR, Topix/Pathfinder, wouldn't there be a history of a vehicle that was serviced at a dealership, regardless of the DMS? I wouldn't be surprised that it wasn't, but I would think that JLR holds on to this data to track issues and a host of other benefits.

I would think there would be some data w/in the TOPIX/Pathfinder system but would question wether all of the items that was entered in the DMS via OPCODES (general maintenance or customer complaints) would be entered. My experience with my 2018 Discovery HSE Lux TD6 that has been in the service department for 42 weeks of the 110 weeks I have owned it is that Topix shows whether system updates, recalls or TSB's have been completed versus general maintenance. Mine is a lemon...LR knows it but will not buy it back.
