Default Water Leak Left Side Rear

I was out in the car last night while it had been raining off and on all day. I noticed some water droplets on the floor in the back with the 3rd row folded down. It seemed to be leaking from the side panel near the third row seat belt clip where the panel meets the armrest/compartment. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s not a lot like the windshield was but noticeable. I didn’t see any on the right hand side.

I looked around the outside and even removed some panels to see if I could tell where it was coming from but didn’t find anything. I’m planning to call the dealer but haven’t yet.

Could it be from the roof rail attachment bolts?

Possibly. I climbed on top and looked around while it was raining. The seal around the rails looked good, but who knows.

It may also be a drain pipe from the moonroof area. I need to see if I can find a diagram where those run, sometimes these can plug up or get loose causing water to enter the cabin in strange places.

Default Car wash sent trails of water down both sides 3rd row windows

Dealership kept it two weeks and repaired under warranty. The claimed that there were welds which had come loose; they definitely removed the roof rack, rails, and trim to repair and supposedly pulled the headliner in the rear but I saw no indications they did that. I think they pulled the roof attachments and trim off and put sealant all under it and then mounted again. In any case it no longer leaks and was covered under warranty.

Thanks for providing this! I looked through and don’t think the drain hose is the culprit. It doesn’t go back far enough.

That’s going to be my next step, but not really excited about having to take it in and them ripping parts out. Better than leaking water though.
