Hey guys just wanted to Introduce myself as Im looking into getting a Disco II.
My name is Shane and Im in the Army im from Bakersfield,Ca grew up in Las Vegas And am now stationed @ Fort Polk,La! Ive been to Iraq and had alot of fun doing it. ive owned various 4X4 since I was very young all have been used as such and had some sort of Lift and Mud/At tire depending on what i was using it for( exception is my Current Yukon but only because im a new Father) some of the rigs ive had are 85 4'runner 4x4, 1990 Chevy K1500, 2002 Wrangler( what made me fall in love with off roading), 2001 Yukon 4x4 1996 Ford F250 Powerstroke 4x4, and drive Diffrent arrays of Military 4x4,6x6,8x8 to break and learn a thing or too about 4x4 systems.

 

Welcome. If you go to the Discovery 1 section of the forum, there is a technical section, which has "things to look for when buying a Disco" and "comparison of Disco 1 and Disco 2". There are also posts of what to do a 60K miles, etc. The free link below is to a full set of factory service, electrical, and body manuals. Vehicles are sometimes posted on this site, another place is www.statewidelist.com; which filters Craigslist for all listing in a particular state, then groups it by city. So you could search for all "Rover" in "your state" with price range "x" to "y".

If you are near a large salvage yard you can get a good peek at what they look like on the inside. It's like going to the DRMO....
