I’ve been following these forums for quite a while now and am yet to post anything, I figure sooner or later I’m going to have a problem that hasn’t been asked yet so decided to join! And here is my introduction.
name is Eli (as the tag suggests), I bought my Discovery 1 about 2 years ago and have put 15,000km on it since then. This is a weekend warrior/ bush machine to us. Have been methodically working my way through this vehicles issues. I learned very early on that I would need to do the repairs myself as most shops around me have little to no clue what is going on with Land Rovers.

The vehicle:
1997 Disco 1
166,000km
2.5” terrafirma HD lift
terrafirma steering damper
31” BFG KO2’s
Thule high tower gutter mount racks (recently installed, stoked to be able to carry the boat)
Hella Rallye 4000’s on the brush bar
full suspension overhaul (all ball joints and bushings front and back)
Replaced:
water pump
thermostat
cooling hoses
power steering hoses
vacuum hoses/oil separator (pcv tune up)
mass air flow sensor
spark plugs and wires
fan clutch
belt tensioner
religious tranny, transfer case, diff’s and oil changes

upcoming:
Valve cover replacement
transmission cooling lines
full exhaust overhaul
