Default New Disco Owner; What can you tell me?

Hey! I just bought a 2001 Disco II SE and am in love with the thing so far. I'm looking forward to my first rock climb/mud bog next weekend and all the cool upgrades and fixes that go along with being an owner. I guess I would like for people to respond with "things I wish I knew when I first bought my LR". You know, make sure you check this or that, don't worry about this, use these kind of parts or service places, etc. Happy to have found this site and look forward to fixing and upgrading my LR. I'm hooked!

Welcome, download the shop and owner's manuals called the RAVE, a free link below. Also check our tech section for rebuild info on front drive shaft, if the stock one snaps, it takes the tranny with it. Stock does not have all the grease fittings it needs. Tech section has high miles service list, etc. Used parts guys in my signature (dismantlers), and a number of on-line sources, like Atlantic British, Rovers North, BP Utah, British Pacific, AutoHausAZ, to name a few. #1 thing - if that temp gauge goes over 9:00 stop and find out why.
