I am sure we are going to have plenty of questions and need plenty of help.

 

Before Disco Mike , Savannah Buzz or anyone else tells you Check your front driveshaft for grease fittings, If they are there,grease them a bunch, If not, prepare to quickly have it rebuilt or you risk losing you tranny and other underparts. These are prone to failure ( I got lucky) due to heat cooking all the grease out of the sealed bearings.
First thing I did on the 04 was have it replaced. The 99 I made it to Denver from Ky. and the bearing were almost frozen. Don't put this off , Listen to these guys mentioned above they know their stuff.
Never let it overheat. IF The temp gauge shows hot it's too late You will need head gaskets. The temp gage reads cold , normal and I need head gaskets.. there is no warning. I have experience with this. Get a digital monitor that reads from OBDII port.

I have really enjoyed my Rover since 2000, Been everywhere in it. Keep it maintained and you will love it. It's a great ride I have 2 of them now I Must like them

Well said, except that the D2 has the missing grease fittings...

What is nornally found is that prior owners have not changed any fluid other than engine oil, and only during months when there was no scandal from the White House or Congress......
