One of my keys is toast for my lr3 , the guy at the dealership says it is a $500 cost to replace, yet it is supposed to be rechargeable, any ideas or easy ways around it

 

sometimes reprogramming works. just bring in both keys. if it doesn't work and the recharging doesn't work then its a new key.

but the only thing that is rechargeable is the remote part. if the key doesn't start the vehicle then it wasn't programmed or it got the programming wiped out.

 

WOW!!! $500 for a freakin' key? No way in hell I'd pay that.
