Perhaps for an optional PTO shaft - see attached from options brochure. Not a lot of HP for a bush hog or finishing mower, but a Rover would impress the neighbors while cutting the pasture.

Now what to do with those holes? Slip in a pipe and use it to hold fishing rods, pry bars, pipe for the still, survey gear, tent poles, etc?

A good friend's brother in Ireland has one of these on the farm, where they were quite popular as a utility vehicle. And I think they may have had another smaller line that could run to the front bumper to operate a winch.

SM: Curious if your Ireland friend can recommend a shop or contacts on the west coast/S.Dublin. (NewtownMountKennedy area)? Trying to decide if I want to take my truck to IE or sell and buy a new one. Rental agent free upgraded me to brand new Jag XJ AWD and all I ever passed on the roads were LRDII's. WHen they saw the "well brushed" wheels when I took it back, the reason is obvious why Disco's are the way to ride. It passes emissions here in the states, but not sure if I'll be required to modify it (and if even possible to switch to RHD) if I get the job and take it over.

Actually, considering the right hand drive thing maybe selling and buying another one here in Ireland might be better. They are cheap enough to pick up here.

it would be mental for you ship that thing to Ireland because of the cost you can buy in used 1 over there. Not to mention you can get yourself a nice little TDI

Yes, the holes are for PTO shafts.

I'd love to get my hands on a rear PTO for my Series II. I've never seen anyone with one in Canada.
