Default 1989 Range Rover classic fuel pump issues

I am currently working on my 1989 Range Rover and have finally gotten power to the new fuel pump that I installed. In order to do this I had to jump the fuel relay (relay as I found out is bad). When the battery is connected I can hear the fuel pump buzzing but when trying to turn over the engine I still have no fuel pressure. I disconnected the fuel line before the filter to see if there was any fuel in the line and turn it over like that but their is still no fuel. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
