Hey everybody,

My Wife has a 2015 Evoque, & she went out to leave the house yesterday & it started fine, the shifter moved up out of the console, but the shifter will not move out of park.

The parking brake is off.

I read somewhere to check the brake lights, I checked them & they are working fine.

Any advice / help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you have any luck with this? I just bought a 2014 and I have this issue. If I let it sit for an hour it will let me drive it again. But this issue is reoccurring.

 

Looks like the previous owner had spilled a drink in the shifter. Once replaced I have had no further issues. I wanted to post as this was an easy fix and I hear a lot of people have spilled drinks in their cars. I didn't think about that at first as I have always had a no open drinks allowed in my vehicles policy. :-)

 

2015 Evoque owner here as well. Bought brand new and three days, ~50 miles later, experienced the same issue - drove into a parking lot, put in park, wasn't happy with parking job so tried to but back in drive and wouldn't budge out of park. Cycled car on/off a handful of times to no avail. While waiting on hold for the service department tried again and everything was fine. Issue has not occurred again. Only have 25k on the clock now, but has been problem free since!
