Carplay no navigation sound
Thanks GRRR. I'm just not sure it's worth a trip to the dealership and waiting a week for them to fix the problem if a software update is going to be available some time in October. I think I will wait to see what happens next month.
I have not asked them because from my past experience with them they will probably be the clueless. I am hoping that your information is correct and an over air update will be forthcoming. I look at my call to the dealership as a last resort kind of thing. I live on the east coast of FL and it might be worth it for me to drive to your coast to get service. That's how much confidence I have in LR of Ft Lauderdale. :-)
I’d wait. I know that sounds strange coming from someone who had the rollback done but I was not told of the potential update until after the dealership had done it. Luckily, I haven’t experienced any adverse effects. Wait and see if the OTA update corrects the issue.
The fix, for now, is quite simple. While using the navigation app through CarPlay, try switching the audio source to radio and then back to CarPlay. For Google maps, Apple Maps and Waze it works in both our JLR cars. As the rest of the family, with different car brands but same phones and iOS do not have this problem, it is clearly a JLR problem, not an Apple one...

The Range Rover is nice, but the software is so poor. Critical issues like this has been out there for almost half a year, I have never seen any software vendor behaving like this in the past who survived long.
I can withstand the confusing infotainment system, because there is CarPlay, but with this bug, I have to suffer. In fact, the built-in NAV doesn’t have audio neither. It should easy to locate the bug, fix and issue a new release, but JLR just didn’t do it.
Thank you, this worked for me.
