Oh cool! For the Nanocom, if you have a P38, you need a special cable. It seems to be the only vehicle that needs the special cable. I only have the one cable though, and it also works on the Disco. That’s a good piece of information to know. That’s very good sleuth work on your part.

We got the tough book fired up and the Lynx up and running I was pretty excited as it looked like a solid setup, the excitement was short lived though

So I quickly figured out the Lynx was family locked to the Discovery II

So figured no problem I’ll by the unlock for the Range Rover P38 or the full models unlock as the system looks pretty good and user friendly

I sent them an Email and the reply

So unfortunately they can’t generate an unlock code apparently that is not supported any longer. Not hardware mind you just a code…. So I will make due with what I have or maybe pick up the RSW but to be honest I’m getting a bit gunshy about dealing with all these smaller diagnostics company’s lol

Yeah, too bad Nanocom is as pricey as it is. If you get the RSW I think it will work fine for you.

agreed the nanocom really doesn’t make sense. I would order the RSW but I can’t get a email reply back form them so I will just do what I can with the launch and move on.

Got it up on ramps so I could tackle the vague steering feel

Quick easy job that makes a huge difference

With the steering done I got started on a few other projects.

Muffler was rotted through so off it came

Have a few other things to get done as it looks like we will be needing All Terrain tires for the trip that we have planned. So I’m looking for stock size all terrains now. Not going to lift it and want to maintain the driving experience as it was intended from the factory. So for now I have it sitting on some 19’s I had laying around while I sort out what I am getting mounted on the 18” wheels or if I can find something else for cheap to toss on the truck

Got the tires swapped all the way around but I have to admit I am digging the 19’s on the P38 I may need to find some All Terrains for them instead🤔

Thinking some DuraTracs would be a pretty good daily combo on this one

Yeah, unless you mount your spare tire somewhere else, you pretty much need to stick with stock tire size. I’ve tried to fit a very slightly larger tire in the boot, but it won’t go, although someone said you can fit a deflated one.
You probably know, but Disco 2 wheels are identical to the P38. (One of the few compatible parts)

I've found DuraTrac 255/55R19 for it and I can make it fit somewhere lol it's an inch of difference. If I need to it will ride in the area of the back seat once it's removed and we can store other things in the spare tire well. For this trip we will be pulling the back seat out for sure to be able to fit the Gazelle T4 tent in the back along with the fridge etc.

Had a storm coming so I tossed a car cover on it to help the sunroof keep things dry. Spoiler alert that didn’t work

Then I decided it was time to wash a layer or three of muck off the engine and body. I absolutely love the foam cannon. I know I know but damn its fun😂

While I was doing the tires I took care of that Bluetooth muffler I’ll have to add a piece of pipe to bring it out to the bumper but at least its not banging into everything for now.
