Every maintenance done on time and never let a dashboard warning or light on for this beautiful 2016 TD6. Unfortunately my extended warranty on it was a scam so I decided to sell the car. But the week I did, it stopped on the highway and never turned back on. After a full month at the shop I got the news that it had a catastrophic failure.

I still cannot absorb the news! Where do I go from here? Other than the engine, everything is is great shape. What are one’s options here?

I just had the same thing happen to my 2014 Sport V8 Supercharged 149k miles, engine seized... Regular yearly maintenance done, wasn't due until July, no check engine light, oil light, any warning came on beforehand. Dealership quoted us $51,500 to replace the engine. Still need to get it towed back home and my husband may take it apart and try a few things. I've never known anyone to have this happen to their car, especially one you spend $80k on plus ~$3k/year to the dealership to prevent this sort of thing!

 

Or seized engines in general because it's ridiculous that this happens when you bring the vehicle in for regular maintenance and "thorough" checkups. All that and zero accountability.
