Hello,
I just bought my first series 3, 109 from 1975.
From Norway army, steering on the left.
I drove a 200km and I had a bad clutch.
First the pedal was very low.
Then on a day I couldn't get it in gear.
There was fluid by the pedal. So changing the cilinder was a no brainer.
I thought I'll do the slave also.
While changing the slave, rod came out
Little did I knew (really new in to cars) it should stay in.(I think) So I think the part:
576723 - clip push rod should be around the rod and clamped on to the release lever.
Is that correct.
I think it's broken, but as you all know there is really No space.
If it should be around the lever, I am afraid I need to disassemble the complete gearbox. Or could you get it around it in an other way?
Or maybe I'm wrong about how it should be installed?
Thank you!
I managed to replace the clip and the rod and reassemble everything. It was a bit tricky, but I managed by sliding a small tube over the rod, bending the clip slightly, and then using the tube to push the clip onto the fork.
