Default heater valve, hose and bracket

Hello LRF,

I recently bought my first LR, a 1969 Series 2a. It's a running truck and it came with a replacement radiator which was my first job and my introduction to the many differences between these vehicles and model years. The PO also provided a replacement heater valve which is also replaced but when refitting the heater valve hose which comes from a straight black metal tube mounted to the valve cover, I found the hose leaking at the heater valve connection. The hose end feels a little soft so I wanted to replace it but I've not found anything that looks like mine which is a straight hose with a larger inner diameter on the end nearest the heater pipe. I've yet to find any reference to this hose anywhere (manuals, www, etc.). A dealer thought this was for an early 2a.

The second thing that I'm curious about though not an issue is heater valve and the heater valve bracket. I've not found any reference to this type or it's bracket. It's looks like a regular heater valve with a flat sheet of metal tacked on to mount it to the mounting bracket. I was also told that the hose coming off the bottom of the heater valve should really be a hardware adapter and mine has another strange rubber(?) hose installed.

Can some one confirm what I have and offer suggestions on finding this hose?

Thanks

Default Update

I found that this is a USA specification hose, heater valve and bracket however searching the part# for the hose produced zero results so I started looking for options. I found one company that makes a reducer but they are only 4" long and the current hose is 7". They make a 1/2" to 1/2" coupler so I'll use the 3/4" to 1/2" reducer hose and then coupler and another few inches of 1/2" hose.

Mines a 1963 and doesn't look at all like yours. I've only ever used standard parts store heater hoses on mine.

I've not seen another like mine in all my searches. I ended up getting a hose with a 3/4" to 5/8" reducer hose and then a 5/8" to 1/2" connector with some 1/2" hose to complete it. A few extra hose clamps but it worked.
