In case you guys miss having this "protective end cap" I was STUNNED to learn that it is only $5 at the DEALER parts department! ...I was there for something else and I remembered to ask and they had one! First time my 2005 has had it on for like...idk...10 years?

Hopefully it stays put this time around.

I like the cool color.

What purpose does it serve?

^ I got that. I guess the real purpose is to keep mud out of the hitch receiver, receiver.

But it does look cool like one of those remove before take off tags on pilots bags.

Yeah it doesn't serve much of a purpose, which is why after mine fell off 10 years ago, I never bothered to get a new one....but for $5 why not? Now it looks "fresh off the lot" again!

Maybe I will just shove a $5 bill in mine! But I am a sucker for anything in caution orange/red.

Caution amber....warning red.

Yeah...my alma mater's colors are orange and black. So this works for me!
