I wish I could lay claim to the work. This one was beyond my abilities (welding) so I paid for the work to be done. Actually was a not so hard job sayeth my mechanic and I agree they had it pretty much completely off the truck in under 3 hours.

They did the best they could at the top part of the frame rails. They drilled a hole on the inside and outside so they could plug weld the new to old from underneath/inside.

Only thing out of the water right now = my house maybe 2ft to spare right now & my shop with all my LR stuff/Vehicles which has about 1/2 inch before the water floods it.

Praying it lets up long enough to go back down before the next wave. Kayak survived Ike so it's ready to be used again.

It's not looking good here as we're supposed to get two more days of heavy rain. We were getting gaps in the rain, but now it's solid. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. I'd have left a day or two ago, but where I'm at is the highest area around for miles and miles. So now I've just got to wait it out.
Stay safe out there !

All 2004's have a center locking differential. They also have the best linkage for engaging it.

I got a Pull-a-part notification that a 2004 Disco showed up on their Atlanta South lot.
So during my extended long lunch from work today, I got:
- a clean set of LR Disco rubber mats for $1.95 a piece
- the very rare fog light relay pack and switch for $4.95
- the top cover for the engine's power steering pump and 2 bolts for $4.95 (mine was missing)

While adding these parts to my 2001 Disco, I decided to delve into my rear window washer pump that hasn't worked since I purchased it back in 2016.
This why it didn't work...

Cheeky bastard!

Not a full rebuild. It was leaking at the case halves so i pulled it out, cleaned it up and used high temp rtv to reseal. I had ordered a new one but had to drive a few hours for a wedding the next day
