Best inline thermostat mod

I can't argue with results however eliminating some hoses and streamlining the flow has to be more efficient, less maintenance and Fewer points of failure. Not to mention that finding a Chevy thermostat when you need one is cheap and easy.
Heck the 04 I currently have with a new 180F thermostat in it runs so cool in fact I'm getting P0126 pending codes for the engine not warming up to spec quickly enough!

I've been doing quite a bit of towing lately with the Disco in 80-85* weather. Ill say that with her straining (I've had as much as 6500 lbs behind her) she scoots over 200 a hair, but just running around she stays in the high 180s/low 190s. I even forgot I turned my electric fan off (I replaced the factory mechanics fan with an electric fan) before I drove an hour round trip at one point and she never went over 200 even in town at stop lights. Didn't notice till I got home and the fan wasn't running when I cut the truck off.
The real weak spot in the system (once the inline mod has been done) is the radiator. It's too small once you get her with a heavy load in high ambient temps. When my epoxy patch job springs a leak I'm going for a Silverado radiator for a little more cooling ability.

I am currently contemplating the inline thermostat mod, however my temps at idle in SoCal usually never go above 197, with the A/C on its 194. I like the belief that I will get back the HP lost with running the vicious fan all the time and longer life for my head gaskets. I am currently running the 180 t-stat and I have a less than 2 year old radiator with pentofrost coolant. Would I benefit any from running this setup?
